The GC1 comes from Yamaha's decades-long pursuit of outstanding sound and clean resonance - and makes that quality accessible in a format suited to smaller rooms. At 161 cm in depth (5 foot 3 inch grand length) it offers the full string length and open vibrating behaviour of a true grand piano, yet remains living-room friendly. TransAcoustic TA3: the heart of it - your grand becomes the speaker

TransAcoustic is not an add-on digital piano but a technology integrated into a genuine acoustic grand. A special transducer attached to the soundboard converts digital signals into fine vibrations and relays them directly to the soundboard - so the piano itself becomes the sound body, with no external loudspeakers at all. In TransAcoustic mode you steplessly lower the volume of the acoustic sound while the soundboard keeps vibrating, so you not only hear the tone but feel it through your body. In Silent mode you plug in headphones and practise quietly at any time of day or night - with the finely graded sound of the sampled Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial concert grands. The non-contact Articulation Sensor System reads your playing precisely, so even the digital sound feels like a real grand. Via Bluetooth audio and MIDI you stream music through the soundboard or connect the piano to the Smart Pianist app.
