Grand Feel III: A Playing Feel Like a Real Grand Piano

At the heart of the CA901 is the Grand Feel III keyboard with 88 keys made entirely of wood – a construction otherwise found only on acoustic grand pianos. The Ivory/Ebony Touch surface provides a secure grip, while three sensors per key including let-off simulation capture the finest nuances of touch. The result is a playing feel that comes remarkably close to that of a concert grand.

SK-EX Rendering: The Sound of Real Concert Grands

With SK-EX Rendering technology and Harmonic Imaging XL, the CA901 reproduces the full sound body of the Shigeru Kawai SK-EX and Kawai EX concert grands – including sympathetic resonance and damper noises. Of the 96 voices in total, 5 different rendering characters alone are available for each grand piano model, complemented by the sound of the SK-5 Grand and the K-60 upright piano. The TwinDrive Soundboard System with 135 watts of total output and two AURES transducers sets even the soundboard itself in vibration – for a sound that unfolds in the room instead of merely coming from loudspeakers.
