Legendary action for an authentic playing feel

The 88 keys with surfaces made of acrylic resin (white) and phenolic resin (black) provide a secure grip even during intensive playing. Combined with the proven Yamaha piano action, this creates a precision and dynamic response that pianists have valued for generations. The soft-close fallboard additionally protects your fingers and the sensitive action.

Silent playing with concert grand voices

The SH3 Silent System works with contact-free sensors – electromagnetic-inductive at the keys, optical at the hammers and pedals – and thus captures every nuance of touch without altering the mechanical action. Through headphones you hear 25 voices, including binaurally recorded samples of the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial concert grand, with a rich 256-note polyphony. Via Bluetooth or USB you connect your smartphone or tablet, record your own playing as a WAV or MIDI file and play it back later.
