For the felt hammers and piano strings of the YUS series, Yamaha uses the same materials as in the world-famous flagship concert grand piano CFX. The back frame is designed to safely take up around 20 tonnes of string tension – the basis for a rich, carrying tone across the entire keyboard.

The TA3 TransAcoustic System: Practice Without Compromise

Non-contact electromagnetic sensors capture every key stroke precisely and pass it on to the tone generator. Instead of being played through loudspeakers, the sound is radiated directly via the soundboard by the Soundboard Drive System – a natural sound that fills the room entirely without headphones, optionally with the binaurally sampled grand piano sounds Yamaha CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial as well as a forte piano sound.
