The brilliant tone of a solid spruce top – now at a reduced price as B-stock

The Yamaha CG142S from the renowned CG series is a classical 4/4 concert guitar for anyone looking for a clear, powerful nylon-string sound. At its heart is a solid spruce top (Engelmann) – unlike the laminated tops of many entry-level models. Whether for lessons, music school or playing at home, this guitar accompanies you from the very first chord with a balanced, lively tone.

A solid spruce top for a tone that grows with you

A solid top vibrates more freely than a laminate and delivers crisp highs, good projection and a quick response. Best of all: the sound of a solid wood top matures over the years, gaining depth and character – an instrument that grows with your playing. Nato back and sides provide a warm, supportive foundation beneath the bright top.

Classical build and comfortable playability

With a standard 650 mm scale length and a classical 52 mm nut width, the CG142S offers the familiar playing feel that lets a clean technique develop. The rosewood fingerboard and the satin-finished nato neck sit comfortably in the hand, while the gloss-finished top protects the wood and shows it off elegantly.

Inspected B-stock – full tone at a lower price

This instrument is new merchandise with only minor cosmetic marks, offered as B-stock. It has been inspected, carefully set up and is fully functional. The lower price relates solely to the appearance – the sound quality of the solid spruce top is fully preserved.

Your benefits at a glance:

  • Solid spruce top: bright, clear tone with good projection instead of a laminated entry-level sound.
  • A tone that matures: solid wood gains depth and character over the years.
  • Familiar ergonomics: 650 mm scale length and 52 mm nut width for clean classical technique.
  • Refined craftsmanship: gloss body, satin neck and chrome tuners.
  • Smart price advantage: inspected B-stock with a small cosmetic flaw, full tone at a lower price.
