The Roland Aerophone Pro AE-30 is the professional model in the Aerophone series, combining the playing feel of a real wind instrument with the sound versatility of a modern tone engine. For saxophone players, as well as clarinet, flute, and brass players, it offers a familiar fingering system – paired with 300+ sounds, precise sensor technology, and a clear OLED display. On stage, in the studio, or practicing quietly with headphones: the AE-30 adapts to how you play.

300+ sounds thanks to ZEN-Core and SuperNATURAL Acoustic

Inside beats the same ZEN-Core sound engine found in Roland’s FANTOM and JUPITER-X synthesizers, combined with SuperNATURAL acoustic modeling technology. Over 300 preset Scenes, up to 600 user Scenes, and 12 favorite Scenes for quick recall are on hand – from classic saxophone and brass tones to synth and ensemble sounds. Additional sounds can be imported directly from a FANTOM via USB, and the free Editor app makes it easy to manage, import, and export Scenes from a computer or USB stick.

Precise sensors for a natural playing feel

The breath sensor and bite sensor translate airflow and embouchure into extremely fine dynamic nuance – for a playing feel that comes close to an acoustic instrument. A built-in motion sensor adds extra expressive control through body movement, the Harmony function automatically adds matching backing voices based on key and scale, and Scale Tune ensures precise intonation. With selectable fingering for saxophone (including high F#), clarinet, flute, recorder, or brass, the AE-30 feels immediately familiar to players coming from many different instrument families.

Clear display, wireless connections

The graphic OLED display, 128 × 32 pixels, stays readable from any angle and clearly shows Scene names, parameters, and menus. Bluetooth 4.2 lets you stream audio sources to play along with and transmit MIDI data wirelessly; USB Type-C connects the AE-30 to a computer or mobile device for audio, MIDI, and sound management. For use on the go, six AA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries (sold separately) deliver roughly 6 hours of playing time without the AC adaptor.
