Soundboard technology from the CFX concert grand

The C7X soundboard uses the same bonding technique for soundboard, ribs and bridge as the legendary CFX concert grand – for a fuller sound rich in overtones. The cast iron frame is manufactured by Yamaha itself using a vacuum die-casting process; the internal bracing has been significantly reinforced compared with earlier models, giving the instrument greater volume and resonance.

A responsive action for maximum expressiveness

The 88 keys, with Ivorite (white) and WPC (black) coverings, feel comfortable and precise under the fingers. CX Series Special hammers and an individual let-off mechanism with chrome-plated parts allow the finest nuances, from the softest pianissimo to a powerful fortissimo. Three pedals – damper, sostenuto and soft – give you the full classical range of expression.
